AI Sales Assistant for WhatsApp Commerce
Waseel Business
In Saudi Arabia, a huge share of small-business retail happens in WhatsApp threads — perfume, bakhoor, dates, saffron, sold conversation by conversation, often through voice notes. That doesn't scale past one person. This prototype asks what it looks like when AI handles the repetitive half: answering in the right Arabic dialect, and turning a product photo into an Instagram-ready ad.
01 — The brief
The challenge
Saudi small retailers sell through WhatsApp, in Arabic, frequently by voice note — a workflow no off-the-shelf sales tool handles. The product needed to be proven before it could be funded or engineered, which meant designing a genuinely usable interface for three hard problems at once: AI replies that get Arabic tone and dialect right, automated video-ad creation from an existing catalogue, and analytics an owner would actually check.
02 — What we built
The solution
We built a complete interactive prototype in React and TypeScript covering the full product surface. The WhatsApp workspace shows live conversations with AI-drafted replies, voice-note handling and configurable tone and dialect. The video-ad builder takes a catalogue product and walks through AI script writing, Arabic text-to-speech, templates and captions to an Instagram-ready MP4. A dashboard tracks messages processed, voice notes handled and videos created, and a catalogue of Gulf retail products feeds both AI features.
03 — Method
How we got there
- 01Mapped the full product surface across dashboard, WhatsApp, video ads, products and settings
- 02Designed a WhatsApp workspace with AI-drafted replies, voice-note handling and quick replies
- 03Built a video-ad flow from catalogue product to AI script, Arabic TTS, captions and MP4 export
- 04Modelled a Gulf retail catalogue — oud, bakhoor, attars, saffron, dates — driving both AI features
- 05Built an analytics dashboard in Recharts for messages, conversations, voice notes and ads
- 06Shipped Arabic tone and dialect configuration as a first-class setting, not an afterthought
- 07Delivered light and dark themes and a responsive layout across the whole prototype
04 — Proof
What changed
- Complete interactive prototype across five product areas, ready to demo to stakeholders
- Arabic-first design, with tone and dialect treated as a core setting
- Video-ad flow taking a catalogue product through to an Instagram-ready MP4
- Analytics dashboard proving out the metrics an owner would track daily
